Stall at the Handmade Expo

Yesterday Sandi and I had a stall at the Handmade Expo in the Ipswich Showgrounds. We also launched my new book Blood on the Snow, a murder mystery about a helicopter crash in the Antarctic.
The best part of the day for me was when a young woman came up to the stall and bought a copy of the new book, plus a copy of Seeking Sarah which was released seven years ago and is now almost out of print.
She said, 'I love this book,' and I said, 'Have you read it before?' She replied, 'Yes, I borrowed it out of the library.'
I was just so thrilled that someone who had read my book quite a few years ago remembered it so well she bought her own copy.
That is the beauty of self-publishing and selling books directly to the readers. You get great feed back and, hopefully, the reader comes back for another book.
The next Expo in Ipswich will be on Saturday 17 August at the Turf Club at Bundamba. It will be a bigger venue and a bigger market, so it should be great. In the meantime, Sandi and I will have to learn how to put up a tent!
